Cream-like White Lightning trio and "William Tell Overture" -- hoping someone will add more text, pictures, and details. Here are some details I subsequently found:

Ditto for "The Nightcrawlers" - a Carleton College-based band. Here are some photos of the Nightcrawlers from 1966-67, taken during a concert at Sayles-Hill Gymnasium (see bball hoop) and Goodhue Hall Cafeteria (triangle windows), Carleton College, Northfield, MN.

Some details on Radio Free Pillsbury, another Carleton-based band, an excerpt from the Carleton College VOICE magazine of Summer 2002: Rock and Roll, Part II. ... I can remember clearly a second rock band, Radio Free Pillsbury, which played Sayles-Hill and Mai Fete during that time. Unlike the cover band Jefferson Buss Line, we played originals as well as Hendrix, Butterfield, and Doors. John Zielinski '72 on Farisa organ was Carleton's youngest freshman at age 16. Gregg Purinton (bass), Arne Burghardt (lead guitar), and Blair Odland (drums) were all in the class of '71, but ended up transferring. Arne in particular was a brilliant musician, but we were a bit too esoteric and scornful of pop success to survive long as a band. Our name was inspired by Pillsbury Baptist Bible College, to which we imagined ourselves beaming messages of peace, love, and rock and roll. --Charlie Quimby, Carleton College '71
