89.3 The Current

89.3 The Current (KCMP 89.3 FM) is the newest music service from Minnesota Public Radio, which launched on January 24, 2005. The station had been purchased from St. Olaf College in Northfield in late 2004, after operating there from 1922 as WCAL, initially on the AM dial.
