Background

Alan Sparhawk is the guitarist and lead singer for Duluth-based band Low. In addition, he is the lead guitarist and singer for the blues band the Black Eyed Snakes and the Retribution Gospel Choir.

He is a native of Duluth. Sparhawk is married to fellow Low band member Mimi Parker. They also have a daughter together.

Though Sparhawk is perhaps best known for his work in bands, he also has been known to play solo. Occasionally plays shows alone, favoring an ambient guitar sound. He has a solo song featured on a compilation album put out by Siber Records as well as on an album called See You On the Moon! Songs For Children of All Ages. In August, 2006 he released his debut solo album on Siber Records.
