Anecdotes
Describing itself as "a traditional church with a modern message," the Basilica of St Mary hosts the summertime music fest known as the Basilica Block Party. Local bands who have played the Basilica Block Party include Soul Asylum and Semisonic. The Basilica also hosts a series of orchestral and choral concerts throughout the year.
Recognized as one of the finest examples of Beaux Arts architecture in the United States, it has been named to the National Register of Historic Places.
