History
Be My Emergency (bme) is a St. Paul based, three piece indie rock band, playing all original songs which span the gaps between alternative, pop, punk, emo, and classic rock. The band formed in August of 2004 when singer/songwriter Marc Schwartzmiller moved to the Twin Cities from Milwaukee and recruited friend Josh Kohn, who had no previous musical experience, to give the bass guitar a try. After several months of practicing in a tiny bedroom, annoying other roommates and frequently missing notes, Thrift Store Romance was born. Due to the recent deluge of "Romance" bands, ie: My Chemical Romance and Matchbook Romance, the name was scrapped, and the creative process continued. It wasn't until January of 2005, when drummer Chris Palmer was added to the line-up, that Be My Emergency was fully formed. Since then, the band has been enjoying mild success playing local shows around the Twin Cities at venues such as: The Fine Line, Station 4, Terminal Bar, Hexagon Bar, Club Underground, Adacia Mucic Cafe, Big V's, and The Uptown Bar. Their 6 song, self titled EP was released in Ocotber of 2006 and includes the following songs:
- running for our lives
- can't wear a cast on my heart
- nasdaq
- triple word score
- falling into winter
- fitting in
bme is currenty in the process of recording 5 new songs, and looks to put out a full length album in late 2007.
