History
The Bomb Shelter was literally an underground club; entry required walking down two flights of stairs to the two main rooms below. This main enterance would later become a problem when the club was raided by police in 1996.
The name of the club was actually taken from Density Bomb, a band who used the space for practice (and it doubled as living quarters as well). Initially, the band started to invite other bands to play the basement at parties, and soon there after, Felix Von Havoc and Chaos Jack approached the band about renting the space for punk shows. The band was happy to accept, as the building was secure, there was tons of extra space and this would lower their increasing rent. Eventually, the band was evicted, as they were in violation of zoning laws (no permanent living).
