History

At an early age Cole spent large amounts of time alone and with his older brother playing with any tape recorders on-hand to record radio broadcasts, conversations, and other various activities. He took less than a year of piano lessons and guitar lessons with little success at either instrument. Around 2001 he began experimenting with music sequencers and digital music composition and has been practicing with various recording techniques (including playing back digital audio and recording it on tape with the same Playskool tape recorder he used as a child) since then. In 2005 he announced a possible future change in the name of his project due to learning that a garage rock band in Ontario shared the name Gasoline Rainbow. In 2006, anticipating an attempt to change the overall sound of his music, he changed his alias to Boreal Network.
