History

Casanatra was founded in 2002 and starting as a random jam session between two friends (Dennis Asher and Lance Reed) who had just quit their bands, Casanatra quickly became a passion. A third friend (Jeremy "Jer" Fink) joined the fold a short while later. A four song EP, "Is this Tonight?" was recorded as a three piece, with Dennis filling in on bass duties. Using the new recording as a recruiting tool, Josh Burke auditioned and was subsequently asked to join the group bass. Josh continued to play with the group in many tours throughout the Midwest, after about a year it was decided by the original core to continue on as a power trio, without bass. In 2009, Casanatra added old-time friend Brett Johnson, who had recently ended a 5 year tenure with local hip-hop gurus, Atmosphere. Continuing to find new ways to explore rock, Casanatra recorded their pinnacle album, "Split the Atom Again". Like many inherently transient groups, the steam in the engine of Casanatra to continue touring and writing began to run-out. On hiatus in 2011 until they feel the itch again, core group members, Dennis, Jer and Lance currently perform in quirky, pop rock group Goodnight Ritual.
