Central Standard is a Minneapolis band consisting of Scotty Brat (bass), Tages (guitar), Justin DeRusha (drums) and Lisa Ganser (vocals).

In April 2007 Central Standard (formed in the Summer of 2006) embark on a Midwest tour in support of their self-released 7 song cd entitled 'really'. They recently made a decision to change thier band name before recording their second album, as the name does not seem to fit the music. "The band's music echoes the pulsating thrash sound of L.A. in the early 1980's with a touch of grungy power pop." - Uptown Neighborhood News, January 2007. The lyrics resonate with both wit and low brow humor. The band names that have been considered are Sisters & Sailors, Julia's Seizure and Hey There Cowboy. The band has played many Twin Cities venues, including the 7th Street Entry, Hexagon, Pi Restaurant & Bar, Big Vs, the 400 Bar, and the Turf Club. They have played a number of Homocore Minneapolis shows - http://www.myspace.com/homocore and have dedicated themselves to playing at least every other hometown show as all ages.

Central Standard's band members are formerly of Three for the Gallows (Minneapolis), Puzzle (Cleveland, Ohio), The Black Diamonds (Olympia, WA) and Punky Bruiser (Minneapolis). The live shows are energetic and worth seeing.
