Biography

Chris is a bassist/singer, kids entertainer, educator, a music label CEO, sound designer, media consultant, and a video producer. Currently, Chris is teaching audio engineering, the New Music Business and Internet Branding at a Minnesota University.

THE OLD DAYS Chris was influential in the Seventies/Eighties MN scene as a co-owner/producer at legendary Tracks On Fifth studios in St. Paul. Engineering credits include Jam & Lewis, Peter Himmelman, Peter Lang, Rio Nido, Flamin Ohs, Sussman Lawrence, Vixen, Bobby Z, Dr Matt Fink, Ricky Peterson, The Jimmy Nervous Show, Moonshine, Raggs, The Misanthropes, Steve Tornado & The Turnbuckles, Smart Alex, Robert Wilkinson, Johnny Rey, Teaser, Prudence Johnson, Tim Sparks, Red Wolfe, NNB and Mora (from the astral plane).

CREDITS Chris's live mixing credits include Patty Smith, and Elvis Costello & the Attractions (@ Longhorn) and thousands of Midwest club shows. Chris was promoter/road manager/soundman for Muddy Waters' amazing 1973 concert at the Bel Rae Ballroom. Chris is a successful band leader and bassist, logging over 5,000 live shows. He is an accomplished children’s music producer & entertainer, with the AlphaBits Band.

Tracks On Fifth

Michael McKern was Chris's partner at Tracks On Fifth. Tracks swept the Music Awards Show one year: Best LP (vinyl), EP and Single, honoring Rio Nido, Flamingo & NNB.

Tracks On Fifth hosted industry parties for Bonnie Raitt, Tom Petty and many others during their glory days. One memorable recording/rehearsal/party for the Amazing Rhthym Aces lasted 48 hours and produced Russel Smith's emotional "King Of The Cowboys" (for John Wayne).
