Deep Shag were a Minneapolis band, largely considered part of the nascent "dream pop" scene but incorporating elements from various British music movements, bubblegum pop, and whatever else was going on in the early-90s. Their membership included: Jon Hunt (Lunar 9, Shatterproof, Medication, Landing Gear, Autumn Leaves) on guitar, Chris Hill (Mercurial Rage, Medication, Lunar 9) on bass, Steven Frenkel on drums and Lisa Parker on vocals. The songs were primarily written by Hunt, Parker and Hill, and they recorded at least one single on Prospective records, "Always A Turn-On" b/w "Hey You." When the band started to get popular locally, Chris and jon panicked and broke the band up in a fit of nasty self-sabotage.
