History
The Twin Cities-based live review website HowWasTheShow.com was founded in February, 2002 by David de Young. The site's first review (now lost to the ether) was of Craig David at First Avenue. Since its inception, the site has had contributions from dozens of writers, posted hundreds of live local and national reviews of both concerts and theater productions, and received 3 Minnesota Music Academy (MMA) nominations for Best Minnesota Music Media/Website. In 2005 it was awarded "Best Locally Generated Website" by the City Pages. In 2006 it won the Minnesota Music Academy award for Best Online Music Media in the state of Minnesota, and its anniversary party was featured in Spin Magazine as one of "America's Wildest Parties."
In 2005, Andrea Myers began writing for the site and became editor in 2006. Bob Longmore assumed the position of editor in January, 2008. Contributers include Jon Behm, David Rachac, Pat O'Brien, Bob Longmore, Joe Lang, Cyn Collins and Taylor Carik.
In 2009, de Young resumed the editor's job. HowWasTheShow also continued to expand its theater coverage and began live webcasts of the Mad Ripple Hootenanny from The Beat Coffeehouse in Uptown Minneapolis every Thursday evening.
