Once part of a comedy duo called JR Productions (1984-1988) based out of Glendale, AZ in the mid to late '80's, j eastman along with his co-writer/performer, Rowland Perkins, wrote five full length albums of comedy material. JR Productions went on hiatus in 1988 as each of the members of the group moved on to pursue other creative outlets.

After being absent from the stage for three years, j eastman returned to performing and went on to record his first album, “Bored Out of My Skull: The Basement Tapes” on his Farm League Records label in October 1999. In 2001, he appeared on the compilation “Mild 7: Songs We Learned In Texas” and later the same year his web only song “We’re Going Out” was chosen by Karen Rachtman (music supervisor for Pulp Fiction and Boogie Nights )for the soundtrack to the movie Getting Hal.
