Macalester College

Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota has been the formation point for a number of bands, including:
- Hüsker Dü (1979)
- Information Society (early 1980s)
- Walt Mink (1989)
- Malachi Constant (1999)
Macalester also has a student-run radio station, WMCN, 91.7 fm.
In addition, the first live performance of A Prairie Home Companion occurred at the Janet Wallace Fine Arts Center on campus in 1974.
