Man Afraid was a hardcore band in Minneapolis formed in the fall of 1994. The band released 2 EP's and had a few tracks included on punk compilations. They played mostly in Minneapolis, with occasional trips to Fargo, Mankato, Winnepeg, one show in Minot, ND and an east coast tour.
The band formed in the fall of 1994 with members Nick, Mike, Tony and Pat. Sloan joined in the winter of 1996.
In the fall of '96, Mike took his own life.

In the Fall of 1995 Patrick Costello (from Dillinger Four) filled in on bass for a few months while Nick was in Portland. Around that same time Brian Kopish added dual vocals for live shows. Sloan joined the band in the winter of '96.
