History
According to the Hennepin County Fact Sheet on the Minneapolis Armory, it was the costliest single building in Minnesota supported by a Public Works Administration grant. Open for concerts and events from the late 1930s to the 1970s, the Armory hosted a diverse range of acts over the years such as The Dave Clark Five, Janis Joplin, and Black Sabbath.
