Name a page

Use these basic guidelines when naming a page.

1. The first letter of the title needs to be capitalized. From MediaWiki: "Due to technical limitations inherent to the MediaWiki software, the first letter in an article title always needs to be a capital letter. Ordinarily this isn't a problem, but it poses an issue when a proper noun's first letter is lowercase (for example, eBay)." Groups, people, or venues that use lowercase for their names will still need the first letter of the article title capitalized.

2. Avoid using "The" and "A" as the beginning of a page name unless part of the actual title. Unless a group or venue specifically uses definite article ("The Replacements"), go directly to their title.

3. Unless the article title is a name, do not excessively capitalize. Both "The" and "Replacements" are capitalized, as would be an individual artist's name. Do not use all caps, even if the group, artist, or venue does.

4. Avoid special characters Some special characters either cannot be used or won't display correctly. Some examples include: a piping character (|), an asterisk (*), an ampersand (&), a plus sign (+), curly braces ({}), or square braces ([]).
