History

The NorShor Theater was originally designed as a stage theatre. Over the years, it has been used as a venue for films, concerts and stage shows. The NorShor used to play a large role every year in the Homegrown Music Festival. Since the 1990s, the NorShor has had a string of failing business enterprises operate and eventually close down. In addition, it has changed owners several times, at one point even coming under the ownership of the City of Duluth in order to preserve its historic architecture.

Since 2006, the NorShor Theater has been converted into The NorShor Experience, a strip club.
