History
Things that happened for STNNNG (pronounced "The Stunning"):
- Formed originally as a four-piece of Chris/Adam/Nate/Jeremy.
- First show on April 5, 2003 at Christiansen's Big V's Saloon in St. Paul, MN.
- Recorded 4 songs with David Storberg in September 2003. These were mixed by David & Bruce Templeton in November, and 2 songs (I held it; for an instant, I knew what it was...and then it was vanished/We Keep it Dark) wound up on the Means/STNNNG split 7" released in April 2004. These four songs (as part of a demo disc) were nominated for "Best Punk Recording" for the 2004 Minnesota Music Awards.
- Recorded first album, Dignified Sissy, from July 10-12, 2004 with Mike Lust at Phantom Manor in Chicago, IL. Mixed September 11 & 12 by Mike & STNNNG. Album was mastered in November 2004 by Dave Gardner at Magneto Mastering, and released April 2005 on CD by Modern Radio and self-released by the band on LP.
- Jesse joined the band on bass in December 2004. His first show was January 28, 2005 at the Hexagon Bar in Minneapolis, MN.
- Nominated for "Best Punk Band" and "Best Punk Recording" (Dignified Sissy) for the 2005 Minnesota Music Awards.
- Placed 1st in 2005 in the City Pages' annual Picked to Click poll.
- Second full-length album, "Fake Fake", was released on Modern Radio in October 2006 on CD & LP. Recorded in two sessions by Mike Lust at Phantom Manor in Chicago, IL: September 17-18, 2005 and May 1-5, 2006. Mixed by Mike & STNNNG during second session.
