Biography

Sandy is a premier children's entertainer with The AlphaBits Band. AlphaBits first EP was a critics favorite and a top selling Midwest kids' music cassette in the late Nineties. AlphaBits is a duo, including producer/tunesmith Chris Hinding.

Sandy is a legendary Twin Cities barroom singer, singing in Sandy and the Hitmen, an Americana & country rock band with roots going back back to the Carter years (Jimmy & Carlene).

As a teenager, Sandy was "All State Choir" at Rosemount HS. After graduation Sandy sang often with Indiana's amazing Wright Brothers. She drew a rousing ovation at Orchestra Hall highlighting the Wright's farewell concert. She has sung professionally since then.

Moonshine

In the late Seventies and early Eighties, Sandy sang with Moonshine, an alt country band (before there were alt country bands). The group has survived to this day with Sandy, Chris Hinding (bass) & Michael McKern (drums). They play clubs as "Sandy and the Hitmen".

The Present

Fast forward to 2007. Sandy can be heard entertaining kids w/AlphaBits. She continues to sing in Minnesota clubs with the Hitmen. Both groups record CDs in Jangletown, a project studio in Mendota Hts.

Sandy is featured on the Sugarfoot Music compilation "For New Orleans" singing the refrain from "Blue Bayou". The haunting track finishes the benefit CD in a sound collage. Raging guitar winds fade & turn to the pained refrain "I'm goin back some day... come what may to Blue Bayou".
