History

Sandy and the Hitmen date back three decades to their first incarnation as Moonshine. In 1987 the group became the Hitmen and toured Midwestern clubs. Playing 250 shows per year, the Hitmen were crowd favorites in Rochester, at the Hexagon (Mpls) and at their home bar, the Mendota Saloon.

In the late Eighties, the Hitmen were a mainstay at the original Blue Goose in Garrison. Wild nights with packed crazy crowds created memories and scenes that cannot be properly described here (this is a family wiki). Think "Caligula" with guitars and tap beer.

Sandy and the Hitmen continue on today (older & wiser) playing in local clubs. Summer brings Hitmen shows to park amphitheaters & festivals. "Cover band" does not really do justice to Sandy's sensational voice and the bands treatments of british invasion, alt country & hippy songs.

With 4,000 shows behind them the band plays a diverse and extensive song list. One week at the (now cool) Hexagon, the Hitmen played four consecutive nights without repeating a song... 300 tunes, tight and rocking with the bands trademark 4 part vocals. In an era where bands (now) play one hour sets... know only 20 songs.. and break up after playing five gigs, this band stands as a dinosaur (probably) and a monument to versatility & perseverance.

Still singing sweet country, recalling sixties revolution and shaking the walls with anthemic acid rock, the band rolls on.

Members

Chris Hinding, Michael McKern, Sandy Hinding and Brian Hanson. Shel Kenyon (Beyond Tomorrow)joins the band for outdoor concerts.
