Examples of Comprehensive Articles

I added this section as a place to list articles that would be a good example. How that should be decided, I'm not sure. But what was up before about malachi constant sounded more like advertising, than a Wikipedia article. By default a band page has 6 categories (history, bands, albums, audio, related websites, related bands); I propose that if a band has at least 5 of these 6 it can be listed in this section. I'd like to compare it to Wikipedia's guidelines [1]. --Matadoriangray 08:37, 24 May 2011 (CDT)

Hi. I see that you currently have some links to categories using external links (<tt>[http://... title]</tt>). You can directly access categories by inserting a colon at the beginning. For instance, [[:Category:Venue]] will appear as: Category:Venue.

Also, spaces are automatically translated to underscores, so you don't have to do [[Create_a_new_page|create a new page]] to get create a new page. —Mulad (talk) 21:11, 14 Sep 2005 (CDT)

Wikipedia

Wikipedia content is "All text is available under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License (see Copyrights for details)." Is it cool to copy content from there and provide a link? Wikipedia:Copyrights or do people belive thats a bad way to go? -Ravedave 23:22, 16 Nov 2005 (CST)

Well, it's legal to copy it from Wikipedia... The GNU Free documentation license doesn't need to come from wikipedia though, you can find it at http://gnu.org, or, you can find it on http://kylewiki.mine.nu Kmill 17:27, 2 Dec 2005 (CST)

Main Page Layout

Does anyone mind if I redo the main page's layout? Maybe more like wikipedia (arranged in a bordered grid, each section gets its own template with an edit button). I'll try it, and if anybody doesn't like what I did, feel free to revert. Kmill 17:27, 2 Dec 2005 (CST)

Oh, I just realized that I'm not allowed to do that... I'll just create one on my user page... Whoever is an admin can copy what I've done if they want to. Kmill 17:29, 2 Dec 2005 (CST)

Mediawiki

There is a problem with the rendering for mediawiki on this site. The footer is misplaced on the bottom. I know that it is because of the length of the sidebar, but someone please edit /skins/Monobook.php and the stylesheets in /skins/monobook/ to fix this. Also, the MPR logo at the top is too wide, it messes up the layout - pushes the content down, leaving a big white space. And, the thing at the bottom for "About..." is too small and should go into the footer. Just take these as suggestions... Thanks for making this wiki! Wiki Syntax Rendering

It seems to me that some of the MediaWiki commands have been disabled. While I understand that some have been disabled for security reasons, I strongly urge that the ability to resize images through wiki syntax be re-enabled. Right now, as an person who tries to help and edit pages on this site, it's impossible to fix a large image without downloading the source image and reuploading a new version at a smaller size. Wiki syntax should allow me to put "180px" or another user defined size into the image tag and automatically resize the image. — AaronGNP 20:49, 27 Sep 2006 (CST)
