History
The Bombay Sweets began in 2009 as the solo project of Nathan Grumdahl (Dynamiters, Selby Tigers, Arm, Monarques), who was inspired to record solo material by the discovery of a vintage DuKane tape machine at a garage sale. The first Bombay Sweets demo EP was recorded on the DuKane, and featured Grumdahl on guitar, vocals, and drum machine.
Soon after the completion of this first demo, Grumdahl was joined by his former Monarques bandmate Jeff Brown (also of Grotto) on stand-up "cocktail" drum kit.
