History

Minneapolis writer Sam Magavern created the Flops for a story he was writing but the band was brought to life by friends Matt Wilson and John Munson, formerly of Trip Shakespeare. the Flops provide the soundtrack for Sam's story, a multimedia work which is included as part of the Flops 2002 release Ooh La La. the Flops would continue to play live shows occasionally over the next couple of years mostly playing fan favorites from Trip Shakespeare and Matt's solo works, but they decided to move on after a show at the 400 Bar in early 2005.

During this same time period, Matt and John appeared (along with Mary Lucia) in the independent film "The Last Word", also written by Sam Magavern.
