History
The She-Birds and Elephants are a band from Rochester, Minnesota with jam rock, experimental, and indie rock qualities. They were originally made up of James Denzer, Matt Richner, and Connor Wade. This line-up made an EP called "We Made Jam" in one of the first playing sessions they ever had. This EP was mostly improvisational except for the two covers on it (Tourette's, and The National Anthem). James played guitar on every song except "Tourette's" which featured Matt on guitar and James on vocals. Matt played bass on every song except "Tourette's" which had Matt playing guitar. Connor played drums throughout the whole album. After more playing and recording they created their first full-length album, "She-Birds" which featured the better songs from "We Made Jam" along with a re-recording of the title song from "We Made Jam." "The National Anthem" was also a re-recording of the recording made on their EP. This version of the song featured the normal line-up with Matt on vocals. Shortly after the creation of "She-Birds", another two guitarists were added to the line-up. Hannibal Cook and Joe Leichty were recruited to play guitar for The She-Birds. The She-Birds and Elephants are currently working on their "Elephants" album.
