The Small Cities
From Minnewiki
History
The Small Cities, named for the members' rural hometown allegiance, is an alt-rock indie trio based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Leif "Papa Love" Bjornson and David "Chuck Norris" Osborn hail from the holstien hamlet of Amery, Wisconsin, where they matured musically and subjected their friends to many jam sessions in the Osborns' basement. The Amery Connection of The Small Cities evolution came into being with parts of belonging to Cro-magnon Electric Butterfly (7th graders are awesome at naming bands), then grew into Spitfire 3 (pretty dang good for high-schoolers), then parts of Real Space (very legit), Wes Burdine and the Librarians and finally morphed into their current condition as The Small Cities. Surviving the ultimate test of natural selection, The Small Cities will release their first E.P. with Common Cloud Records in Spring 2008. In a pictoral shout-out to their roots, the album art depicts the historic water tower in Amery in Osborn's 'hood.
