Walt Mink was an indie rock band from St. Paul, active from 1989 to 1997.

History

The group formed at Macalester College in St. Paul in 1989, with John Kimbrough on guitar and vocals, Candice Belanoff on bass, and Joey Waronker on drums. They took their name from one of Macalester's psychology professors.

The group's third album, El Producto, was released on the major label Atlantic. It received an early 10.0 rating from popular music website Pitchfork Media.

Their final album, Goodnite, was recorded live during the band's final performance, on November 1, 1997 in New York City.
