Dark Pony is a rock band from Minneapolis, fronted by Jon Herchert.

History
Prior to forming Dark Pony, Jon Herchert played in Mango Jam in the 1990s and was a part of Jonny Lang's backing band in the 2000s. He formed Dark Pony as a solo project, naming it after his father's Vietnam war helicopter unit.
Star Tribune music critic Chris Riemenschneider described Dark Pony's debut album, 2011's Suburban Serenade Vol. 1, as "charmingly whimsical and musically resplendent, with ample traces of Wilco, George Harrison, Elvis Costello and other cool rock ’n’ roll dads."[1]
