Biography
- Eliza Bonacci aka Eliza Blue writes and sings with a voice like water from a deep well, as earthy and rich as it is sweet and clear. Trained as a classical violinist, Eliza grew up listening to Janis Joplin and the Beatles on her Fisher-Price record player, but had little vocal instruction. She took up the fiddle after falling in love with folk music and soon began writing songs of her own. Guitar came next, and then mandolin and banjo. Since she began her songwriting career three years ago Eliza Blue has crossed the country several times, and averages over a 150 gigs a year. She has appeared in-studio on WGBH in Boston, KFAI in Minneapolis, WNPR in Madison, KWVA in Eugene, and WCSA in Portsmouth, and has songs in rotation on independent radio stations both nationally and internationally. In addition to her solo career, she also fiddles and sings with several local groups, including Roma di Luna, JG & Mary Everest, Jenny Dalton, and Nikki Matteson & Rich Rue. She regularly shares the stage with local folkies like Charlie Parr, Lonesome Dan Kase, and the Roe Family Singers. When she's not on the road, Eliza lives in Minneapolis with her two dogs, Micah and Lily.
