History

Words to a Film Score is a four piece indie rock band from the Twin Ports. They formed in 2002 when Mat Milinkovich and Matt Osterlund of Farewell Tour joined up with Nic Patullo and Tim Curtis of Man in Water. The members met due to the two bands playing several shows together forming a friendship. When their previous bands split up, they decided to form Words to a Film Score.

Their fist attempt at a record came out in the form of an EP dubbed "E.P. 1" released in April 2003. It was recorded and mixed by their own Nic Patullo. It was recorded in his bedroom in about a Month, and contains the very first songs written by the band. Later they would rework some of them in their live show.

After their first EPs release, they were requested to play all over the Midwest. They appeared on stage with the likes of Low, Black Eyed Snakes, Amazing Transparent Man, Small Towns Burn a Little Slower, April Epidemic, The Swiss Army, Fair-weather Friend, and (I am the) Slow Dancing Umbrella. Their strong performance led to their first EP selling over 1,000 copies.

In the winter of 2004 they went on to play a sold out tour with the Black Eyed Snakes, and Fair-weather Friend. After this, Nic left to pursue a government job in California. The band's future was in question, but less than a month later he returned and the band continued on releasing the Step Over the Line single. It contained 3 tracks they recorded before Nic's short lived departure.

After attempts to finally put out a full length they decided split up, playing their last show on October 14, 2005. Their singer Tim moved to the cities. Nic is involved with Portrait of a Drowned Man. Mat and Matt have reunited Farewell Tour, and are also involved with a new band Cars & Trucks.

Though the band had broken up the recordings still existed, and after lots of work fine tuning the band decided to let their album see the light of day. On March 22, 2008 they finally released their full length album titled Hope For the Best, Prepare For the Worst and played a reunion show at Pizza Luce. People who bought the album at this show also received a cd of various B-Sides.
